CCOHS worked in collaboration with the National Office of WHMIS in Health Canada to develop a series of 24 WHMIS Fact Sheets. These Fact Sheets are written in clear-language and are widely used for training in the workplace. These eye catching, informative sheets are available in a PDF format. They are easy to download, print and post in the workplace.

The Fact Sheets include topics such as: What is WHMIS; WHMIS-A Shared Responsibility; Classes of WHMIS-Controlled Products; The Hazards Symbols of WHMIS; Education and Training Requirements.

All WHMIS Fact Sheets are available in both English and French.

Objective

These Fact Sheets help to promote awareness of key health and safety issues related to WHMIS. They are widely used for training and information. These sheets are also available on the Guidance Documents page of the national WHMIS website: www.whmis.gc.ca

Scope

These sheets cover all the WHMIS basics for training such as roles, responsibilities, classes, symbols, plus they provide information on the hazards and safe use of some key WHMIS classes.
